Controversy sells; I think Alonso made some naive (although probably truthful) comments and the media jumped on the opportunity to make some money.

Hell, the tabloids deliberately blow everything out of proportion, so somethimes it can be extremely hard to tell when someone actually DOES mean it ... I'm sure there are times when the gutter-press actually prints some truth, but Alonso would have to be a grade-A moron to have shot his own campaign in the foot like that.

Unsure, I'm sure he said something of the sort, but not as elaborate as the papers/media are making it out to be.

Tabloids exist to blow things out or proportions, although it can be said theres no smoke without fire. I reckon Alonso said something that the media twisted around.
